This film is about….? uh really hard to describe, you have to watch it several times to catch the details, and the film language is running so fast from szene to szene you almost forget to breath. But you laugh and a moment later you get shocked. It makes you think, but during the film you have no time to think about what you see, you just absorb the pictures and the pictures get razor-sharp in you mind.
The IFTA award winning maker of this film, David Oreilly, takes us to a journey to our worlds we are living in, but in this film we don’t see the borders anymore. We are floating in between the worlds. Digital and analog is melting. Even our mindworld gets real, everything is real or everything is unreal. We don’t know anymore. We lose ourselves.

New and fresh electronic music from Russia and beyond. Really great music, smooth and chilly tunes. He creates soundscapes from melancholy sound patterns to crumbling noise in wide space. An intense musical collage with all the little shapes of experimental music which takes you to higher places.

And be sure to check out the motion cover art, some visuals are really nice to look at.

Listen to the whole album and download it for free at G5 Music. Immediate download of 12-track album in your choice of MP3 320, FLAC, or just about any other format you could possibly desire.

Krake Festival // 15. – 21. August

August 17th, 2011 // No Comments // Posted by Andrea

“KRAKE ist an annual Berlin based festival for challenging electronic music and visual transduction initiated by Nico Deuster of KILLEKILL and Holger Hilgers.

The festival took place at the Suicide Circus for the first time in 2010 and was an overwhelming success: numerous groundbreaking artists of high reputation rocked the crowd such as Warp’s electronica heroes PLAID, techno legend CRISTIAN VOGEL, RADIOACTIVE MAN of the infamous two lone swordsmen or breakbeat weirdo BOGDAN RACZYNSKI. But there were also a lot of new talents who surprised the audience with their freshness. PLASTER with their audio/visual concert and KARSTEN PFLUM deserve to be named here.

For 2011 KRAKE will take the next level and consolidate its reputation as the most daring Berlin club festival with a massive line up in 4 venues and, a new website and an artwork by internationally acclaimed graphic designers DOPPELDENK. Musicians confirmed for 2011 include JIMMY EDGAR live set, BOLA live set, LEGOWELT live set, MIXMASTER MORRIS dj set, EMIKA live and many, many more.”

Is there anything more to say ?

The Rhythm between Sound and Motion

August 4th, 2011 // No Comments // Posted by Andrea

Ok first to say. I want that film. Second,I still want that film, Third I want it now. But ok, here are some information about this project. This film is a result of a creative output of established and great sound- and motiondesigners. 20 Motiondesigner and 11 Sounddesigner worked together to explore and research the relation between sound and geometry. They split up in teams, so that they all started from a different point and used different technical solutions.
Maybe these names sound familiar to you: Onur Senturk, Kultnation, Mate Steinforth or Korb set up a team or Audionerve, Mutant Jukebox, Echolab, and World Gang developed developed these experimental work in a double.
The best is to see it for yourself. resonance-film.com

Evan Grant – Making sound visible through cymatics

July 28th, 2011 // No Comments // Posted by Andrea

Evan Grant works with cymatics, the art of visualizing sound, and is the founder of the arts and technology collective seeper. He is exploring natural user interaction and universal computing to create multi-sensorial experiences and memories.
He is really inspiring especially in this talk, there are really just a few people who go deeper in sound science, and how sound effects our minds and body. I will search for more of these kind of articles to show how important sounds for each of our single cell in our body is and how sounds has a certain impact on materials.

Artfully visualizing our humanity

July 18th, 2011 // No Comments // Posted by Andrea

Presented by TED
An inspiring and exploring talk about human traffic and creativity in the Internet.
“Artist Aaron Koblin takes vast amounts of data — and at times vast numbers of people — and weaves them into stunning visualizations. From elegant lines tracing airline flights to landscapes of cell phone data, from a Johnny Cash video assembled from crowd-sourced drawings to the “Wilderness Downtown” video that customizes for the user, his works brilliantly explore how modern technology can make us more human.”

Interpol – Rest My Chemistry Video from Aaron Koblin on Vimeo.

“Participants are invited to create a drawing that is woven into a collective tribute to Johnny Cash, set to his song “Ain’t No Grave.” The project was inspired by the song’s central lyric, “ain’t no grave gonna hold my body down,” and represents Cash’s continued existence, even after his death, through his music and his fans. The work continues to grow and evolve as more people participate. A collaboration with director Chris Milk.”
