Till Nowak – Digital Artist

In line of the Transmediale Festival in Berlin from 30.01 – 05.02.12. I want to show you the work of Till Nowak.

He will present his short film “The Centrifuge Brain Project” at the Festival. It’s not online, but i give you a short vision. In this fictive documentation he builds monstrous machines, which scientist use to overcome gravity. With 3-D-Modelling-and Animation Software he manipulates the reality. After taking live pictures to extract the 3-D structure, he put these animation back to the documentary footage via Match-Moving-Method. So that we get the impression, that gravity is no matter anymore.

The Rhythm between Sound and Motion

Ok first to say. I want that film. Second,I still want that film, Third I want it now. But ok, here are some information about this project. This film is a result of a creative output of established and great sound- and motiondesigners. 20 Motiondesigner and 11 Sounddesigner worked together to explore and research the relation between sound and geometry. They split up in teams, so that they all started from a different point and used different technical solutions.
Maybe these names sound familiar to you: Onur Senturk, Kultnation, Mate Steinforth or Korb set up a team or Audionerve, Mutant Jukebox, Echolab, and World Gang developed developed these experimental work in a double.

Herman Kolgen – Video Art

I saw his video production DUST at the Transmediale 2011 opening. I remembered this video because a fly got on my nerves a couple of minutes before. The good thing, I am not able to see this close-up view with my eyes and my room is not so dusty. But Herman Kolgen gave us the chance to show us an abstract view from a short life of a fly.

Magnetic Movie

In Magnetic Movie, Semiconductor have taken the magnificent scientific visualisations of the sun and solar winds conducted at the Space Sciences Laboratory and Semiconducted them.

With Magnetic Movie, Semiconductor have tapped into a new and ancient aesthetic of turbulence. We can hear it in the sounds of natural radio-naturally-occurring electromagnetic signals from the earth’s ionosphere and magnetosphere-that course through Magnetic Movie, at times animating the animation, a quick nervous response condensed into static.

I love this combination of a classical instrument performing experimental and challenging sound in fusion with a visual projection. The music is measured with sensors, so that the the projection is following the pattern of the music. Great Live Performance. A mixture between an arty composing and modern electronica style.

In this relation i want to introduce you to sinebag another project of Alexander Schubert, more club like.
It is hard to describe the music, very thoughtful, influenced by classical composing and inspired by electronic music. Produced with live electronics, modular synthesizers and music software.

Amstel is a music video for Opiate´s track Amstel. Opiate is the danish musician Thomas Knak /click here for more . He uses analogue instruments as a basement for his music and manipulates them then digitally. He founded and runs his own label Hobby Industries. He worked with famous names like Alva Noto and Björk. As a remixer he has collaborating with musicians and groups of wide spectrum of styles such as Tied & Tickled Trio, Björk,Giardini Di Mirò, Efterklang, Karsten Pflum, Under Byen, Piano Magic, etc.

“This analogue-digital approach I transferred into visuals. Out of different materials like ballons, felt, sweets, buttons and paper-maché I created objects and creatures. I filmed them on greenscreen and composed them afterwards digitally with After Effects.“
