“Waves will be part of this international group exhibit that intends to explore the synthesis between image and sound, the different graphical and physical representations of sound, and its evolution in the context of contemporary art. It charts a course of the most representative artists and pieces of the last decade, also focusing on “visual music” experiments by artists from the beginning of the last century such as Oskar Fischinger and James Whitney. ‘Visualising Sound’ originated in the idea of generating dialogue among all of the pieces that make up the exhibition, spanning a century of creation based on the same idea or concept: to dominate the wave, represent and tame it; the need to go beyond the place where our senses have brought us, which is, after all, the essence of all art. It seeks to show the broadest possible spectrum of the multiple representations of sound, investigating the sound dimension of the spaces we live in.”

Friday, the 13th of April, OneBeat’s experimental session goes into the third round. They invited Wermonster, the notorious psychedelic beat maker to perform a improvised live set under a new project name called “Eugénie”. He won’t be playing his usual live-set, instead this time we’ll go down to drone, noise & ambient.

“EUGÉNIE
is a new musical project 
It´s named after one of the characters in Sade´s “La philosophie dans le boudoir”
I play the guitar, the sp404, the sp303 and other stuffs.
There´s no beat.
There´s no sequencer.
It sometimes sounds Drone, sometimes Ambient or Noise, sometimes all at the same time.
It´s an experiment.
It keeps evolving…”

Actually it was really hard for me to pick my favorites from this outstanding artwork of  the creative studio Atelier Olschinsky and after I saw the following list I was complety blown away. The studio is based in Vienna founded 2002 by Peter Olschinsky and Verena Weiss. To put ther work in just some adjectives ios quite impossible, but let me try: the art work is vivid, inspiring and futuristic with a huge story telling and because of the visual complexity the graphics seems fragile but at the same time the elements are balanced and gives our visual senses a strong impact.
That is what they say about themselves:
“It is just so important to work as much as you can, to learn and to be open to new things.
The journey is the award.” (Atelier Olschinsky)

On friday the 23.03 i played some of my favorite records at the Michelberger Hotel lobby.  Jazz, Soul, Downtempo, Deephouse.. lots of the stuff i have been listening to lately. I uploaded the first 3 hours of a 6 hour set.. quite a bit more downtempo stuff going on in the first part, and i only managed to record the first 4 hours as my old macbook’s memory run full. Last 3 hours where pretty much mostly deephouse.
My favorite part is the start anyway, mixing up the old and the new.. enjoy!!
