Daito Manabe came to Berlin to perform with his face visualizer i posted about before. Unluckily i missed the performance and i´m glad i found the video of his performance over at todayandtomorrow.

“The Face Visualizer is a tool which lets people’s faces move artificially in sync with music through electroshocks produced with the Max/MSP programming platform.”

Simply amazing work.

Nike Music Shoe + making of

April 28th, 2010 // No Comments // Posted by Lukas

Nike produced a really cool ad for the Nike Free Run+ shoe. The Act Hifana does a live performance by bending the flexible sole of the shoe.  Cool concept for an ad and it looks like they had a great time producing this.

Pieter from todayandtomorrow.com sums up how they did it:

“…the shoes used in the video are the real sound controllers. Tomoaki Yanagisawa of 4nchor5 la6 was responsible for the hardware part. He added flexible and accelerometer sensors to the shoes. Daito Manabe of rhizomatiks did the sound programming with Max.
They were both commissioned by Wieden + Kennedy Tokyo for this project.”

Daito Manabe – Electrical Stimulus

March 20th, 2009 // No Comments // Posted by Lukas

Daito Manabe does a lot of interesting projects and even if this one already went round for some time where he tested it on himself i like the version with his mates. As an Artist, Designer, Programmer, DJ, VJ and Composer and bein into fresh and innovative stuff and gimmicks surely one who´s work is worth watching in the future.
