The Sartorialist – A Visual Life

January 7th, 2011 // No Comments // Posted by Lukas

Many of you probably already know the blog “The Sartorialist“ is one of the most successful fashion Blogs written by Scott Schumann.  My girlfriend is often inspired by his photographs and occasionally i check it myself. What´s it about? He says:

“I started The Sartorialist simply to share photos of people that I saw on the streets of New York that I thought looked great. When I worked in the fashion industry (15 years), I always felt that there was a disconnect between what I was selling in the showroom and what I was seeing real people (really cool people) wearing in real life.”

He does a great job and the short and well shot documentary gives us some great insight about his process and the way he approaches people on the street.

Judith Supine

November 22nd, 2010 // No Comments // Posted by Andrea

Judith Supine is a 29-year-old artist living in Brooklyn, NY. Supine could not speak until a month after his seventeenth birthday. He could not physically articulate words, he could only squeak and grunt. Supine often drew pictures to communicate with his family. His mom saved all of his pictures, just one of many reasons why his mom is great.

Judith Supine  sources images from fashion magazines, art history books and any other publicatios he manages to lay his hands on. He gets his magazines out of people’s trash, from the public library, from the dentist’s offices, from his little sister’s magazine collection, from bankrupt porn shops. You can find his work on the streets as well, but he is doing a lot of stuff for sell.

for more collages from him, go to his flickr account

and watch a video from his work in his studio on youtube

We're no longer generating content for Cityclouds. Consider it an archive for great things a group of Berliners found on the web and elsewhere from 2008 to 2012. The future is bright...
