Lompret & Stoubish for Input Selector – Episode 79

February 28th, 2011 // No Comments // Posted by Lukas

The very promising duo Lompret & Stoubish made a excellent experimental downtempo and hiphop podcast for Input Selector in January 2011 (i posted about Input Selector before)… Great tracklist, head nodding guarantee!
Input Selector writes:

“Our collection is being enriched today by its 79th edition, going through another dimension. In effect, this sequence presented by Lompret (who we introduced through his wonderful jazz session) and Stoubish (the last newcomer in the team) will be our first Hip Hop podcast. These two parisians both seem to have a promising future, they compose and share on Lompret’s soundcloud page, and have already dropped mental tracks.”

Enjoy the music!

Today i discovered San Diego based Musician Freddie Joachim (pronounced “JO-AH-KIM”), who began his music career as a DJ in 1996. He turned to producing and since then he released a full length album, an instrumental album and lots of other stuff. Some great tunes, chilled hiphop, easy going beats.. enjoy!

Read about it on his website.  Listen here:

The Monome & Edison

December 8th, 2009 // No Comments // Posted by Lukas

monome

Evey heard of a Monome? No? They write:

“the monome 40h is a reconfigurable grid of sixty-four backlit buttons. Buttons can be configured as toggles, radio groupings, sliders, or organized into more sophisticated systems to monitor and trigger sample playback positions, stream 1-bit video, interact with dynamic physical models, and play games. button press and visual indication are decoupled by design: the correlation is established by each application.”

Musician and Hip Hop Artist Edison built this thing into a lunchbox and does some very impressive things with it. Chapeau!
