Miss Bugs- Fresh Stuff “Cut Out And Fade Out”

February 22nd, 2010 // No Comments // Posted by Andrea

The Street Art Artist Miss Bugs embellished the street of London with her new work. These life sized female figures are melting with the background of the streets. She is questioning the visibility  of woman of the modern society.

Miss Bugs is famous for her pop imagery minted and inspired by Action Heros, Comic firgures and models. Her intension to use these Symbols of Society:” They are such strong iconic figures, each with a set of values good and bad, they send an immediate message making them powerful images to play with.” But she is not using matarials from familiar mainstream figures known by the publicity. What seems to have gotten street art fans in a froth is that Miss Bugs is not using old campy print advertisements or bits of classic paintings as reference; rather, it is that the work is using very recent and pretty well-known pieces of Street Art in the Street Art.

Urban Artist ROA creates A Giant Lanticular in London

December 16th, 2009 // No Comments // Posted by Lukas

As far as i could find out ROA is from Gent in Belgium. I was really impressed with his work with what i just found on Wooster Collective.
He generally paints giant animals, usually in black and white, and sometimes includes their skeleton or internal organs. See more on his Fotolog.. he did some amazing things in Warsaw recently.

A glimpse of Street Art in Lisbon

November 10th, 2009 // 1 Comment // Posted by Lukas

titel

I am currently in Portugal and went for a nice walk in a part of Lisbon called Alfama. Being the oldest part of Lisbon it is also a very touristic one..still, if you keep your eyes open there are some nice details of urban art to be found. I like the aesthetics of the old buildings, the mix of cobbles and steep stairsets .

So here are some pictures i made during my walk. I am looking forward to look for more at Bairro Alto next Saturday.
Let me know what you think.

Nomad “Rainbow Coloured Tears of a Clown”

November 6th, 2009 // No Comments // Posted by Andrea

Nomad is opening his newest solo show, ‘Rainbow Coloured Tears of a Clown‘, at the CircleCulture Gallery. The gallery had a lot of nice things to say to us about the art, the artist, and this exhibition, but I think his flyer sums it up perfectly.

He is showing us that he his talented in a lot of various art styles. He became famous with his streetart. Especially as Mr. Friendly and his messages on rubbish bins. But in his exhibition he tells us about the history of art, in his personal way of expression. But of course street art elements are not missing.

The Opening reception was on october 30, 2009. The show is up through Jan. 9th.

Street Art in Melbourne – Fitzroy

October 8th, 2009 // 1 Comment // Posted by Andrea

The area Fitzroy in Melbourne is likewise famous for its alternative szene like the szene of Friedrichshain in Berlin. And often I was told that both citys are quite similar. So I was interested how streetart covers this szene. What I discovered, sometimes with luck and sometimes with the help of structured search for the untouched and secret places, is shown in my collages. I found for example stencils from Dolk, „Imperial Walker“, „I am your father“ and “R2D2″ and „Zebras“ from Plush. Very exiting!

COMBO a collaborative animation by Blu and David Ellis

September 24th, 2009 // 1 Comment // Posted by Lukas

This might be the most impressive Combination of Street Art and Interactive Media i´ve seen in a long time. Blu is no unknown for who has some interest in street art and David Ellis does some delightful pieces himself. In this cooperation they used an entire building with all aspects and details..brilliant!

thanks charley!

Street art – New work by Blu

August 18th, 2009 // No Comments // Posted by Lukas

All locals from Berlin probably know the giant murals painted close to Warschauer Straße in Berlin. Blu has marked several cities in the world and pleased our eyes with a fantastic animation film MUTO to be seen here.
He´s back with some new giant mural painted in a city in Italy during the FAME festival. Apparently the Land and the Population of Taranto suffered a lot of damage due to a giant factory located in the Place and his work doesn’t leave any doubts of what he meant.

More about the piece here.
