Soul Kitchen – May 2010 Promo

So the weather is really depressing around here..Berlin is cold and grey and it feels like winter. So i chose an adequate picture..
But, we´ve got fresh tunes: my friend Holger aka Soul Kitchen published a new mixtape. As he told me, he arrived home from Berghain and produced this mix in the aftermath of a nice party night. Some deephouse and some nice minimal techno…
Btw, he published is May chart at resident advisor. Enjoy.

Aufgang – merging techno and classic music
After reading Groove Magazine i got to know about a project by Francesco Tristano, Rami Khalifé and Aymeric Westrich named Aufgang. The titel story was a good read and after checking the music they are producing, i must indeed say that what they do really works. They are playing techno live on 2 pianos and a drummer who´s controling some drum machines and electronic synthesizers. It´s a new approach, merging styles and bringing it down to what it is at the end: music. And either you feel something from it or not, regardless of what genre or style you would group it in. But see for yourself..
Soul Kitchen – March 2010 Promo
My good friend Holger ist back with his march promo mixtape…starting very housy it goes back to serious business with some nice tech-house and techno tracks. I am trying to make him publish his tracklists but we´ll have to wait for that to happen. Anyway, big up, great mix..turn it on..enjoy your saturday!

3 obligatory dj sets in March 2010.
I´ve been posting almost just music lately..out of a good reason..there´s just so much good stuff out there that it is even hard to keep track. Anyway, here are my March top suggestions until now:
Scuba vs SCB – RA Podcast 198
Scuba aka SCB merged 2 sets from each act and produced one of the best sets of smooth dubstep, dubtechno and techno i heard in a while. This is one is big! The resident advisor podcast is obligatory anyway..they´ve been delivering quality sounds all the way. Go get this one as it is only available for a few weeks.
Download here or subscribe via Itunes.
DFRNT – Exclusive Percussion Lab Mix
DFRNT delivers a smooth “lovestep” mix. Great for the sunny days that are hopefully coming now…
Download and tracklist here.
Peverelist – FACT Mix 132
Tom Ford aka Peverelist runs Punch Drunk Records and the famous Rooted records store in Bristol. As written on FACT: “It was “recorded live with two turntables and a bag o’ acetate” just last week, and is “choc full of exclusives”.”. Great sounds, dubstep at its best.
Download here (only available for 3 weeks)
percussionlab.com – a fine selection of dj recordings
“Percussion Lab is a collective of like-minded artists, DJs, record labels and selectors. Since 2002 we’ve been curating an exclusive collection of live and DJ sets from our favorite artists, DJs and record labels which we hope will give you a taste of the Percussion Lab community.”I´m glad i found out about percussionlab.com. I think this is by far the best collection of good dj sets i´ve seen on one place in the web. With great musical diversity, this website is rich on content, organized and visually appealing. Again Praveen and Sougwen Chung i blogged about, are involved. All thumbs up!

Cityclouds pres. DJ Xelow
Cityclouds proudly presents dj Xelow with a new promo mix.
Mister Holger Burwitz, commonly known as Bürgi, because his old man was the “Bürgermeister” (mayor) of his hometown, comes out of the boondocks into the capital city. Berlin is only a stop, the world is next and who knows what will come afterwards!?!
This guy is hot like fire. Fire? Napalm! Party promoters, he is the man of power! When he twists the knobs chicks go crazy, hips will burn, people flabbergasted, sweat dropping from the ceilings of the clubs with him releasing his monster tunes!
Fasten your seatbelts and enjoy the ride!

DJ Koszki – Tubular Mix
It is a long time ago since Koszki last sent me a mix to feature it on the Blog. There are some prog house influences in this one but his style definitely got more technoish, and the result is a very driving nighttime set. Good for a change as we have been featuring more housy stuff and other styles. Very solid mixing as always and some topnotch tunes!

Benny´s Summer Mix

Perfect for the summer here´s a proper house mix to get your groove on. Vinyl only with both classics and fresh tunes, my brother Benny made me think of the good old days in Portugal, where he´s probably having the best time playin these. Way to go…great stuff!
