Data Visualisation and tools

January 30th, 2010 // No Comments // Posted by Andrea

In a previous Article I pictured Data Presentations of Visual Complexitiy It intends to be a resource space for anyone interested in the visualization of complex networks. And to present complex network structurs in a visual language system. Data presentation can be beautiful, elegant and descriptive.
In the following article I want to show you interactive tools working for example with music like this one narratives2.0 and tools for creating your own visualizations. Most Data Graphics are unfortunately not for free but they allow us an insight in visual and structural thinking an inspiring graphic work. Thats why I am posting these information graphics, there are beautiful though they have so many details to capture. Wrapping your brain around data online can be challenging, especially when dealing with huge volumes of information. The best are summarized here.

GoodMorning: Visualizing Wake Up Tweets around the World

August 27th, 2009 // No Comments // Posted by Lukas

A interesting Project by Jer Thorp. Twitter as a worldwide phenomenon..kind of impressive. Are you on Twitter yet?

GoodMorning [] is a Twitter visualization tool that shows about 11,000 “good morning” tweets over a 24 hour period, between August 20th and 21st. And this is just a simple sample of Twitter activity around the globe. All tweets are color-coded: green blocks are early tweets, orange ones are around 9am, and red tweets are later in the morning. Black blocks are ‘out of time’ tweets which said “good morning” (or a non-english equivalent) at a strange time in the day.”

Twitter…for real!

April 10th, 2009 // No Comments // Posted by Lukas

Somehow re-opening the subject…but in a different way. I hear twitter here, twitter there and there are only few useful and entertaining things that i liked.
One is the Baker tweet posted on todayandtomorrow and another one is twitter street art. Its interesting how online things transform into something real…i wonder how many people actually get the point while passing by the wall. I am sure that there a lots of useful aspects of twitter…even if it just by getting contributors for blog content like abduzeedo is doing it in his daily inspiration series…but i do prefer the side of showing how senseless it is. Artful ways of expressing that are currently the good side of the whole subject for me…for now. :-)

But if you really want to get deep into it, read this and related articles.

This is funny, yesterday i had an little discussion with Lukas about this new network called Twitter. Everyone talks about it. In the last days i really often read this name or saw that brand on several pages. Funny about that is this cool video called “Twouble with Twitters” witch i found after the little explanation by Lukas. I think this will bring it to the point best!
